1) PR Application
====================
a) things need to bring for PR application:
i) Form 4A (completed application form)
ii) Original PassPort
- copy of Frontpage with personal particular
- copy of Employment Pass Stamp(chop)
iii) Original employment pass + copy
iv) Original IC + copy
v) Original Birth cert + copy
vi) Original Salary Slip + copy (latest 3 months)
vii) Original Degree honours (malay + english) + copy
viii) Original Degree Academic Transcript (Malay + English) + copy
ix) Original STPM certificate + Copy
x) Original SPM cert + Copy
xi) Original Testimonial + copy (STPM & SPM)
xii) others academic or activities certificates

2) PR formalities
===============
This stage is when you received confirmation PR application.
a) go to SIR building (drop at Lavender MRT)
b) SIR building 3rd Storey
i) Blood Grouping Test Service Room - blood test
ii) Produce blood grouping test card
iii) S$50.00 per identity card
iv) They will fill up the Form(blood grouping) for you & take the form

c) Then go to SIR 5th storey - Take photo (4 color passport size photographs) - S$6.00 or S$10.00

D) Valid passport with valid immigration pass (passsport + photopy)

E) Form EP 152

F) Medical Declaration form

G) Entry Permit: S$100.00

H) Re-entry permit: S$10.00 per year --> so 5 years = S$50.00

Traffic Offence and Compound in Malaysia

Price quoted below are nett without further discount, bargaining are subject to price increase without further notice.Speeding:
Exceeding 1 - 20km/h = $130 + 4 demerit points.
Exceeding 21 - 30km/h = $150 + 6 demerit points.
Exceeding 31 - 40km/h = $180 + 8 demerit points.
Exceeding 41 - 50km/h = >$200 + 12 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding 51 - 60km/h = >$200 + 18 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding >61km/h = >$200 + 24 demerit points + Court.

If you want to be a hero and fight the court case yourself, and you lose, you pay the court charges yourself, which wil add up to your fine.
I guess the court charges is at least $200 and above.

Careless driving = $150 + 6 demerit Points.
Inconsiderate Driving = $170 + 9 Demerit Points + Court.
Dangerous Driving = >$200 + 24 Demerit Points + Court + Vehicle Compounded.
Illegal Racing = >$200 + Vehicle Confiscate + Court.
Fail to put Seat Belt = $120 + 3 demerit points.
Crossing Double White lines = $130 + 4 points.
Phone and Drive = $200 + 12 demerit point + Phone Confiscate.
Do not hold your hp in your hand when you drive even with loud speaker or ear piece.
Drink Driving = Up to $5000 Fine And, or jail Term + Licence Suspended + Court.

For first offence.

2nd time offence = Jail term + Fine + Court.
Making an illegal U Turn when there's no U Turn sign = $70.
Fail to Signal when changing lanes = $70.
Driving at night without headlights or taillights switch on after 7pm = $30.
No Number Plate = $70. Obstructed Number Plate = $70.
Obscured Number Plate = $70.
Number Plate Of Unapproved Type = $70.

As for Demerit Point system:
Let's say you have 0 points on 1st January 2007, and you committed the offence of Failing to Put on Seat Belt. So now, you will have 3 demerit points and this will last for 1 Year. If during this 1 year you have no demerit points offence at all, your 3 demerit points will be gone on 1/1/2008. But, if during this one year, From 1/1/2007 - 1/1/2008, you committed another offence with demerit points, your very first offence will be extended for another year until 1/1/2009.

WHAT TO DO IF STOPPED BY POLICE

Procedures to follow in the event you are stopped by uniformed police Officers while driving.
1. Stop the car and wind down your window.
2. If the police officers ask for your documents, request to see their IDs first.
3. If you are satisfied about their identity, ask them if you are being summoned, and for what offence.
4. Produce your identity card and driver's license and wait to collect your summon ticket.

In the event that the police officers ask you to follow them to the police station:
Ask if you are under arrest and for what offence.'
If you are not under arrest, you have the right to leave.

In the event you are flagged down by persons you believe could be plainclothes police:
Do not stop because plainclothes police officers do not have the authority to stop you.
Drive to the nearest police station and lodge a report. (The same procedure applies to pedestrians)

In the event the police come to your house:
Do not let them in before checking their IDs.
If you are not satisfied, phone the nearest police station and confirm if they had been sent to your house.
You are under no obligation to allow them into the house if they don't have a search warrant.
Do not go with them if you are not under arrest.

In the event persons who claimed to be plain clothes police come to your house:
Do not let him in because they do not have the authority to do so.
Lodge a report at the nearest police station.
